Our History
PACKS Africa
With years of experience in the promotion of evidence uptake for policy making, the founder of PACKS Africa had come to appreciate prevailing challenges within the policy evidence interfacing Ghana. Among the identified challenges were; those related to the required skill-set by individuals working in policy-making institutions for the access, evaluation, synthesis, and communication of evidence; those related to access to evidence, including inaccessible information resources, on-friendly data formats, etc.; and those related to individual, organizational system-white culture and attitude that inhibit the use of evidence.
From this background, the idea was conceived to implement existing efforts at promoting the use of evidence, but from the perspective of knowledge management and information systems research. Hence, PACKS Africa was registered in Ghana on 2nd March 2017 as the Center for Knowledge Management and Research, operating as a company limited by guarantee.
