Dr Ivy Frances Osei, neé Baidoe, is a Director of SIBAKON General Medical and Wellness Centre, a private health facility located within the Comet Estates, Berekuso in the Akwapim South District of the Eastern Region.  She is also a Director of R and C Pharmaceutical Company Limited.

She is a former Deputy Director of the Research and Development Division of the Ghana Health Service in charge of the Dissemination, Documentation and Advocacy department. She has over 30 years’ experience working in various capacity in the Ministry of Health/Ghana Health Service. She worked as a medical officer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi and Kwahu Government hospital in Atibie. She also worked as the District Director of Health Services in the Kwahu South District for 6 years.

Dr Osei is a Senior Public Health Physician Specialist. She obtained her Medical Degree from the Vinnitsa Medical Institute in the Ukraine in 1991, an MPH from the School of Public Health, University of Ghana in 2000 and a PhD in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2009. She is an elected Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons since 2011.

Dr Osei specializes in operations research and monitoring and evaluation, particularly interventions for improving access to and quality of reproductive health services. Her expertise is in the area of qualitative research methods. She is passionate about nurturing and training early career researchers as well as facilitating research utilization through the production of research products. Dr Osei has authored several research articles published in peer reviewed journals.

Dr Osei obtained her O’ and A’ level certificates in 1981 and 1983 respectively from Archbishop Porter Girls’ Secondary School in Takoradi.

Dr Osei is fluent in Russian language and has a working knowledge in French. She loves reading and choral music.
